Please find below the Ridgway Area School District Superintendent’s Goals from the past year, based on submitted evaluations, the goals were met at the Excellent to Above Expectations range.

Educational

The educational goal will be to monitor and improve the educational environment by focusing on understanding and preparation to meet compliance of the federal government’s Every Student Succeeds Act (which replaces the No Child Left Behind) and the state’s Future Ready PA Index (which replaces the School Performance Profile).

  • Observe all new and struggling staff members via a formal observation using the state’s teacher effectiveness tool.
  • Visit and have a presence in all district classrooms at least monthly.
  • Conduct leadership meetings to ensure a collaborative approach to meeting building and district goals.


Administrative Structure and Responsibilities

The management goal will be to work to guide the administrative team as they work collaboratively to meet the goals of the district.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the PSSA and Keystone Exams via data analysis, and determine how data will be used on the new state and federal performance indicators.
  • Attend informational and professional development sessions to better understand ESSA and Future Ready PA Index.
  • Develop strategies and/or programs to assist “non-proficient” students to reach their potential.
  • Work to expand learning opportunities for our diverse student population.


Long Range Planning

Continue to have discussions with the Johnsonburg Area School District Superintendent and other local agencies and businesses to evaluate opportunities to collaboratively meet the needs of the RASD district.

  • Engage in long range planning discussions with the JASD Superintendent.
  • Advise the RASD board on decisions for future planning
  • Work collaboratively with local industry and businesses to develop curriculum to prepare students for the future.
  • Collaborate with administration and assemble a pilot blended cyber academy and credit recovery program for the 2017-2018 school year
